JUST KARATE: EVENTS

Dear club instructor,

You are cordially invited to our MSG (Munster Shotokan Group) Invitation Competition.

Venue: Rainbow Community Hall, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford .

Date: Sunday 24^th March, 2013.

Registration is at 9.30am.

Competition starts at 10am sharp.

Ippon Han rules apply: (3 point system)

Note: Gum shield and mitts are compulsory.

This is a pre-registered event

Payment can be made on the day

Cost: Junior €15-------senior €20------Teams €15 if pre-registered

No exceptions

Cheques made to MSG (Munster Shotokan Group)

Referees and Judges, Blazers and Greys.

Tokui Kata (Choice Kata)

The championships will be run using Ippon Han rules.

Traditional, clean, white karate dogi only.

Kumite: Women may wear a chest guard.

Men must wear a box. Gum shields and

Approved mitts must be worn. No other protection or padding will be allowed.

Kata: Tokui Kata (Choice Kata) for all rounds, Different Kata for each round, repeating kata will merit disqualification.

Any category with insufficient entries may be merged with another.

Any club or group with 10 entries or more must bring either a table official or referee with Experience with rules.

All competitors are expected to behave in a manner appropriate for a traditional karate championship.

. Bad behaviour will result in immediate disqualification.

ANY COMPLAINTS MUST BE DONE IN WRITING AND GIVEN TO THE HEAD TABLE.

ALL COMPLAINTS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DEALT WITH AND AN ACTION WILL BE DECIDED.

ANYONE WHO COMPLAINS DIRECTLT TO REFEREES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

CONTINUED BAD BEHAVIOUR WILL RUN THE RISK OF THEIR ENTIRE GROUP BEING DISQUALIFIED – WITH NO REFUND.

Junior Kata (Male & Female mixed):

3) 11 to 12: Beginner to Yellow

4) 11 to 12: Green & Purple

5) 11 to 12 Brown & Black

9) 15 to 17: Purple, Brown & Black

10) Team Kata: x 3 Mixed

It is assumed that all participants are in good health with no injury or illness that may be exacerbated by participating in a martial arts competition. If a participant has a medical condition which might contraindicate participation, he/she must inform the organisers.

Munster Shotokan Group take all precautions necessary involved in running a karate championships, with professional medical staff and qualified referee’s and Judges.

As with any contact sport there is always the risk of injury.

By entering this event competitors/Instructors do so being fully aware of the risks involved and accept such risks.
